| Crystal Taylor born in Honolulu, Hawaii received both her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Ballet and Master of Education degree in Secondary Dance Education from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. She began her classical ballet training in Germany. In the United States, Crystal continued her early training at the Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet School then later with Fernando Schaffenburg at Schaffenburg Ballet Academy in Fort Worth, Texas. In addition, her training includes international studies at the London Contemporary Dance School, and the Richard Alston Dance Company in London, England. She has also participated in the Glenda Brown Choreography project as a choreographer and attended a professional dance workshop in San Francisco Dance Centre. Crystal has worked and/or studied with such artists as Debrah Bale, Maria Brolin-Tani (Skanes Dansteater), Tom Clower, Mary Cochran (Paul Taylor Dance Company), Todd Edson, Titas Fatso, Espen Giljane (Norwegian National Ballet), General McArthur Hambrick, Christian Von Howard, Alonso King (LINES Ballet), John Landovsky (Hawaii State Ballet), Eduardo Lao (Victor Ullate Ballet), Vladimir Malakhov (Staatsballet Berlin), Margaret Mercier-Wolf, Robert Moses, Ramon Oller (Metros Dansa), Lisa Owen, Andy Parkhurst, Ben Stevenson (Texas Ballet Theater), Sharon Story (Atlanta Ballet), and Victor Ullate. While at TCU, Crystal has performed works by faculty members Li-Chou Cheng, Elizabeth Gillaspy, Kerry Kriemen, Dr. Keitha Manning, and the late Fernando Bujones. She has danced professionally with Andrews Dance Company, Ballet Concerto, Commedia Ballet Theater, Contemporary Ballet Dallas, New World Ballet, North Texas Ballet Theatre, and Skånes Dansteatr in Sweden. She currently dances with Contemporary Dance/Fort worth. Crystal has taught at the Swedish National Ballet School in Malmö, Sweden as well as at various dance studios in the Dallas/ Fort Worth metroplex. She currently teaches ballroom dance to 5th grade students through Dance Classrooms North Texas program and ballet and Southlake Dance Academy. |
